About Costarricense.com

Costarricense.com was not created to add one more website about Costa Rica. It came from a simple conviction: what we are deserves to be told well.

There is plenty of information about this country. But information is not the same as understanding. There are lists of beaches, the same phrases repeated, scattered facts that no one verifies. This site attempts something else: to explain clearly what it means to be Costa Rican, where our words come from, how our geography works, what we celebrate, and why.

Not to impress. To serve.

Why this site exists

Costa Rica is a small country with a large identity. Five million people, a strip of land between two oceans, and yet a culture recognized far beyond its size.

That rarity deserves a place where it is explained with respect.

Costarricense.com is a bilingual guide, in Spanish and English, written for three kinds of readers: the Costa Rican who wants to understand their own country better, the diaspora that does not want to lose its roots, and the visitor who arrives with genuine curiosity. We owe all of them the same thing: honest, clear, verified content.

Who builds it

This site was created by Master Joe Phillips, a Costa Rican entrepreneur and technologist, author of the book Cinturón Negro de la IA (Black Belt in AI).

The content is built with artificial intelligence. Not as a shortcut, but as a tool. The difference matters. A powerful tool does not replace judgment; it reveals it. Every page on this site begins with a human decision: what is worth telling, how to tell it accurately, and what not to publish until it is confirmed.

Tools change. The fundamentals remain: accuracy, respect for the reader, and care for what is being told.
